Model J39 chairs designed by Børge Mogensen in 1947 and produced in Denmark in the 1960s by FDB Møbler.
The design balances traditional build with modernism, simplicity with comfort. This 'people's chair'(folkestol) as it came to be known, is an enduringly popular model which fits easily into both modern and traditional settings.
Solid beechwood frames with strong laced papercord seats woven in the traditional pattern. Some small marks consistent with age. Some minor wear - not noticeable in normal use.
Stamped on the frame underneath the cord.
